When asked what the most important commandment was, Jesus replied by saying that we should love God supremely and love people sacrificially. (Mark 12:28-34) Jesus said that the purpose of life is to love God and others. God calls us all to invest our lives in Him and in others. When you think about it, that is what ministry is all about. Ministry is about making an investment of love in the lives of others. Ministries should exist to share the love of God and to meet the needs of those around us.
At Lower Creek, all of our ministries are built upon this philosophy of sharing God's love and meeting the needs of others. All of our ministries are designed with a common purpose. That purpose is that our ministries are "Focused on Christ, pointing others to Him." Whether it is children's ministry, youth ministry, adult ministry, worship services, or missions, the purpose remains the same.
Ministry involves each of us. Our responsibility as a Christian is to serve and minister to others. God expects us to use the gifts, talents, and opportunities he gives us to help others.
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
Every believer in Christ should have a ministry. When you give your life to Christ, you are signing up to minister in his name for the rest of your life. It’s what God made you for. Here at Lower Creek, we have a place for you to be involved in using your God-given gifts to minister to others.
